PEN AND INK

Town Crier Dave, my husband, was asked to do a proclamation for the Pearce Family Reunion being held at the original Pearce Homestead on the north shore of Lake Erie in Dunwich Twsp. They were celebrating the two hundredth anniversary of the arrival of the early pioneers of Dunwich including their family . . . . the Pearces. The day was very hot. The folks were friendly and the food was great. Some of the family and the hosts had hauled out some old equipment and artifacts. This side mower was one of them. Then not long after we were at Country Heritage Park near Milton and saw a similar mower there. This time the mower was being pulled by two beautiful Belgians owned by Murray Bartlett. Murray was mowing the meadow and you may look for him soon in a new painting of mine coming soon. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day. Lovely days to remember. – Jenny
